Ali’i Kaona, NH- Today is a historic, yet, tragic day for the former Irish Republic of Emeraldia. As most already know, 15 days ago former President Aaron O’Wray announced the official end to the IRE, nearly 3 weeks after the Emeraldian Forums crashed for an unknown reason. Following the attack, the general public opinion was that it would be to hard and strenuous to try to rebuild the IRE, and that it would be better to let it pass on and let the citizens move on to other things. And so, on July 5th, 2007, the IRE ceased to be.
Many of the former Emeraldian citizens, including the former president, went and formed the Kingdom of New Hawaii. In a special agreement with GSO, New Hawaii received Emeraldia’s old land after Emeraldia ceased to be, and Emeraldia also turned over all of it’s physical assets to New Hawaii on July 5.
New Hawaii, in honor of the former IRE, established the Emepalkia (Emeraldia) Institute, which shall operate a museum in honor of the former IRE. Today, July 20th, that museum will be opening in New Hawaii. The Emepalkia Museum features old maps, old flag, the ships and much more from the IRE. It has taken the Emepalkia Institute over a week to actually get the museum ready, although planning began earlier than that.
This will be the last article from the ND Post. The current discussions going on about this paper is whether to turn it over to the New Hawaiians, or to preserve it as an extension of the museum. An announcement is expected to come sometime next week.
